Quick Audio File Question
Howdy folks - I got a new MP3 player that has really quite volume output - I know it's the player because I got killer new headphones but I still have puss volume.
So I was wondering: is there any way you know of to convert files to .mp3 with a bumped volume in the conversion? My thinking is if I can just make the files themselves really loud then the player's crappy output shouldnt matter 1/2 as much. Me needs some loud tunez here ;(
Thanks in advance.

I'm not real sure if that is possible...I'm not an audiophile, but there might be a way to do it.
You could buy / make yourself a simple amp however.

Well you can manually boost the volume of each track in software like Cool Edit Pro, but thats obviously far too tedious and pointless.
Exntrik: What MP3 player you got?

You can only increase the volume to a certain level before you hit the edge of the "digital box" and cause distortion and hard clipping.

Oh.
Get a program like GoldWave or Audacity. Use winLAME to decode the Mpeg Layer-3 stream to a PCM WAV file. Open the file, and modify the volume. Then, use winLAME to reencode the file.
The quality of the resultant file WILL decrease.

Have you checked ALL the settings in your Benq Joybee 130? Looked in the manual?

Yea I had a good look through it when I got it, I did go back and mess around with a couple features and it seems a little louder now, thanks Ring.

i personally would get a little amp from like radio shack. it'd be an extra thing to carry around, but it'd be better than modifying all the files. also, sure the battery's all nice and full?
