Final Fantasy VII Wins me over -- but Chrono Trigger is VERY good too.

- FF VII
- FFX
- Chrono Trigger
- Half Life (1/2)

I think RPG's have always had some of the best storylines (I almost ciried when aeris died Sad), but when half-life came out, it was like 'hey, an fps can have a good story too!'

btw, I havn't played it yet -- but katamari keeps catching my eye at blockbuster.

Tales of Symphonia - yep, real nice. I'm replaying it right now :P I stopped halfway last time (when you acquire Presea) because I was too busy to continue. Recently, however, I've been having too much free time and just started over completely on hard mode. ^_^

Metal Gear Solid in my opinion. The story was awesome!

Half-Life & Friends
Half-Life 2

Only because it's that classic some evil thing takes over and its up to <insert generic renegade> to set things right. I thoughorly enjoyed both of these games.

Mafia

I really liked the storyline in this game, it was almost like a movie. It was a well thought out game. Really had the 1930's chicago feel to it, loved every minute of the game.

Red Faction &
Red Faction 2

Same renegade against evil tyrant thing, gotta love it.

Unreal

I absolutely loved this storyline, and I loved this game. Never played the second one because I was afraid it was going to ruin my opinion of the game. Had an awesome Sci-Fi feel to it.

Call of Duty

Talk about putting you on the front lines, this game really puts you in the war. I was on the edge of my seat this entire game. I love the war on 4 differant fronts idea. Game looked and played good.

Grand Theft Auto III

Loved this games storyline, not just because I'm a GTA kiddie, but because I really liked this story. I didn't like Vice City as much because it was a made over scarface storyline. Didn't really like San Andreas that much either. I just liked GTAIII's story. Such a fresh idea, really obvious how much work was put into it.

Medal of Honor: Allied Assault

Excellent single-player game. Haven't played it in awile, but from what I can remember, I loved every minute of the game. Really good work.

Hitman: Codename 47/Hitman: Silent Assassin

Absolutely loved the first one, and the second one wasn't half bad either. I really like the story for the Hitman series. Didn't like Contracts too much, seemed way too cookie-cutter. If I had a dollar for every hour I spent playing the budapest hotel mission.

Metal Gear Solid
Metal Gear Solid 2
Metal Gear Solid 3

Wow...

Thats all for now. Theres more I've forgotton, that is just from the top of my head.

Oh yeah, I cant believe I forgot Mafia. That was such a fun game, the variety of missions was really cool, I would definitely recommend that one to anybody. I think there was an xbox version, too. Probably down to around $20 by now.

For me, I have to say Xenogears is the best. Great story on religion and how 'humans' could have been on the planet. Interesting perspective of the Adam & Eve story as well.
