LyraDesign.net
I just finished work on the site for my design company, Lyra Design.
We offer tutorials, free templates, forums, and some premium flash templates(gotta pay the bills somehow, right?). We're adding new content all the time, and ALWAYS welcome user submissions. We are especially interested in adding some more tutorials, so if you have any tuts you'd like to submit, feel free.
We are also looking for affiliates as well. If interested, use the "Contact Us" section.
Lemme know what you all think? Don't be too harsh, this is my 5th site since learning Photoshop, all HTML before that.
Here's the URL:

I would recommend trying different colors in the header (I don't really like that tone of blue much). Also, try a different font maybe?

I was thinking of changing the font later, but it seems to look fine for now. I have been told I am being picky, just launch it and play with little details like fonts later, as long as it's readable, and matches the site, I can tweak it later, sounds like sound advice to me.
And I'm sorry, but that is not very helpful advice "I don't really like that tone of blue".....is it too bright for the industry I am in? Does it not match the theme of the site? What? It is a basic blue, the most popular color on the planet, as per my marketing research.

The blue is a little too dark and too close to the purple side. It would also help if it did not fade to black at the bottom, but rather just a darker shade of blue.

the fading of the bars all over the site makes my eyes hurt when trying to read whos online, login, search and some of the others, maybe make the text darker? or something that cotrasts well to both black and white.

It's a very busy website, you might want to try to pull your content together a little better, perhaps have a little less on the page.
And because of the mess everywhere my eye isn't immediately drawn to the nav...actually it isn't immediately drawn anywhere in particular, I just kinda looked and said to myself, "how am I supposed to find anything here?" It's not that your menu isn't good, it's that everything else is so distracting.
Navigation is key to the success of any website. Work on making it more clear and apparent (easy in your case, just tone down the rest of the site a bit) and consider having a little less content on your front page so that visitors aren't distracted or disoriented.
Also, because of all the content and the chaotic graphics everywhere...it took a little while to load. Another thing to keep in mind.
