Death of deviantART?
Could it be? Have you even seen what has been going on there lately? It is in complete turmoil over the loss of it's beloved administrator, and co-founder; Scott Jarkoff (Jark).
The releif of his duties came to the suprise of everyone, including Scott himself.
The CEO, Angelo Sotira (Spyed) refuses to comment on the situation and most of deviantART is moving their works into private storage and boycotting deviantART untill Jark has been re-instated.
Could this be the end of the world largest art community?

Following along the lines of what Rad said, it might be worth it to spam DeviantART with advertisements of the Neverside Studio, opening in early August.

Their community is really getting involved in it too... I myself would like to see some justice also. Spyed wasn't one of the founders, so I don't think he has any right.

No, I'd rather gain popularity in a respectable manner.

I think it would be pretty hard for a community that large to die. However, I hope that this event will attract more attention to us. Face it - we're bad asses.

I just "left" deviantart a few days before this, so I don't really know what's going on. I doubt dA would close over this though. But I am shocked he got fired or "relieved of his duties", as I saw him as the one holding the place together.

That's a definite no. We don't 'spam' other communities to attract more visitors. That's not how Neverside works, and Shawn mentioned the same thing before. If we expand through word of mouth, then that's fantastic. However, we will not spam other sites strictly so we can have more users. What type of reputation does that give Neverside?

While I'm anxious to see Neverside grow, I think what's happening at dA is mutinous and greedy, and we shouldn't think of ourselves benefitting from what's happening over there. I'd rather clean, healthy competition--for the good of the Internet--where we may come out on top for being technically better, which I think we have a great potential to be.

What has hapened is sad and I'm sure changes will take place. DeviantART will not "die" for something like this however, even if the goal of their future plans are questionable. Atleast it's very very unlikely.
