I thank that Macs are way better for graphic design.

Yes, buy it and love it. But don't love it too much as to where you shun your family and closest friends, but just enough where you can go, "Oh, yeah, that's the spot."

I was looking into buying the iBook because my price range is about a $1000. It's small, 6 hour battery life, and I'd like to switch to mac. So I was wondering if anyone used Mac OSX here, and if they recommend it or not. Thanks.
Why are you sick of windows?

Please, let's not turn this into a Windows vs. OS X debate. I would recommend it, there's no real reason not to. Like it has been said, some Linux programs run on OS X due the Unix base or whatever it was. If I may ask, though, what size iBook do you wish to purchase? I mean screen size, not cost or however else that could be interpreted

Sorry, was just curious if he was a "lets hate on microsoft" fanboy, or if he did actually have a problem with windows (which most likely would be an end user problem).
I don't exactly recommend an iBook. Unless you don;t use a computer often.

I also have to get an iBook or PowerBook for my architecture class. I'll use your thread to piggy back on my decision.
What do you plan on using this for again?

I work at my Church/volunteer work (I'm only 11 years old), and we use mostly Macs, but I use a Microsoft my-self. I would like a Mac, but they are very expensive.

Mac's are great if you're not going to be doing a lot of file swapping and co-creation with windows systems.
The software can be a problem. Not alot of games are available on the mac platform. And warez are few and far between. You usually don't buy a mac if you're on a tight budget. They're nice systems, and run real smooth... but they sure aren't cheap in any respect.
You may want to wait awhile because they are going to start selling the intel mac's in 2006. If it's not totally urgent, i would suggest holding off until then.
