I need help :( urgently

ok , ive done my mp3 player case , the closed version , u can view it on image showoff, but now i need to do it open , have a look at the pic , i want it to be like hollow inside , but how do i make that effect? how wud i make it look like the MP3 player is open at 90 degrees ? someone help me please? thanks

Hmm, maybe try modelling a half-hollow-sphere in a 3D program...for reference.

well it's not my image Normar...lol it's from blackmesas

perspective effect.

Maybe a gradient effect would get it. Go form light gray to black on both parts.

onelife how did u get the top bit to look open ? live the bottom of it , wen i seperate the ball in half , curves down , how u get it curve up ?
is it an invert or sumfin ?

deformation tool in this case since i didnt have the original stuff to work with.
but you should, so take your bottom, flip it, and reapply the stuff you put on the top.
dont forget that when it's open some of the top items wont be as visable.

how do you want the lighting when it's opened? dark or light inside? what angle do you picture the light hitting this thing?

also how far open is it supposed to be?
