3DSM advice?
Hey all, i'm starting school (in a while actually i have one highschool credit to finish, somehow they let me out missing one... o.O) for Game Modeling and Design (3d), art institute.
Wondering if anyone knows a good place to get completley started in 3DSM. SUch as like basic overviews of the buttons and such. They are going to teach me this in school, but i want to have a small headstart on everything. I have the lynda stuff on beginning Maya (great video tutorials), just looking fo rsomething similar for 3DSM.

check out the video tutorials at 3dbuzz.com you need to register but they are free and worth the time of registering. the tutorials cover the very basics up to the complex stuff

dont worry about making super detailed models when starting 3dsm give yourself a polygon limit and try not to gp over it. 1000 triangles is a good number to try to stay under when starting out.

I learned using the 3DBuzz VTMs. They were very helpful.
But to jumpstart into 3DSM before the VTMs I just played around with the tools, following those (now lame) abstract render tutorials.
