what does fedora core lack in am using it now

i think most Linux experts will tell you, the best linux is what suits your needs and capabilities.

personally i was told the best for a new linux user is Vector Linux (vectorlinux.com)

I love ubuntu. I've used Red Hat before, and just changed after 2 years with Mandrake (now Mandriva). IGreat package manager. Make sure you read ubuntuguide.com , and unlock the universal repositories.
