Removing lens flare
I have a photo that was taken in direct sunlight, and my camera added it's own lens flare that completely ruins the image in my opinion. I'd normally go about this problem by using the healing brush or clone tool, but the sun is shining through a tree, so the flare is nearly impossible to remove. Any pointers? Maybe a way to make the lens flare less "in your face" and have it blend into the image slightly? Thanks in advance.

I like the flare myself.
My best advice would be to sample the browns around where it turns to red, then paint over those areas with some different blending effects (maybe Burn or Multiply?). Or do some fancy work with Image -> Adjustment -> Color Replace. It won't remove it per se but can change the colors of it's appearance.

try using the doge and burn tools to make the tree branches that are being lightened by the flare as dark as the regular branches...also the same could apply to the sky

you're not going to be able to get rid of that, although you could make it less prominent if you fiddled with channels a little (google for a nice channels tutorial, I'm not good enough to write one for you now).
