Archiving pictures.... What DPI?

What DPI should be used to archive prints inorder to be reprinted with exact quality? From various sources I was told 300. I want to see if that is still the consensus. I would like to know before I scan 200 of my pictures in.

300DPI or higher if you ever want to reprint the prints.

anything between 150 and 300 dpi is acceptable, 300dpi or higher is preferable. Actually, more than 300 is for professional prints, so 300 should be just fine...
