It's the ones like my first example that have made me stop offering my assistance in this forum. Until I see a change, I'm just going to observe in here. Not that anyone will notice.

Since the report system I have to look into a MySQL table. If you feel someone is being a turd, send a link of the thread, and who is responsible and we'll look into it. Just e-mail it to forums@neverside.com and all of the forum leaders will get it. Check the http://about.neverside.com/staff/ page for more information and private e-mail addresses.

Thanks. In the future, I'll do that. I even decided to try and help someone out in here just now. We'll see how it goes. Smile

I don't know who that was, but there's nothing wrong with pointing out a better way of doing something. What if somebody else gets the same problem?

I've noticed this myself. I posted in here helping a couple of guys out a few weeks ago. One of those posts was entirely resolved, and the guy was happy. Then two other posters came in and said they had better ways of doing what he had asked than I gave him. Okay, fine, but since he already has a working solution he didn't erally need that did he?

As a moderator around here, its (in my books), completely acceptable to post a better solution, even when one works - thats how we learn. Please dont be offended by this. If someoneone phrases it like a complete jerk though, then we have an issue. Either report it or get in touch with me or one of the other mods (aim: itssuperphil )

Yep, it's ok for people to post alternative methods afterwards even if the member doesn't ask for them. Gives everyone a chance to learn something, not just the thread starter. However, if someone is being forceful about it, or insulting another method, then well, make sure you report it as I said, and we'll deal with it promptly. I have mods in different area... codes.. or.. yeah, mods right? Not.. yeah.
