Article Collection

Following up on my sticky thread here in these forums, this will amass all of the articles written. Remember, these articles can already be written and published on your website. The aim and point of our CodeBase is to expand and get your articles out there to a bigger audience, even drive traffic to your site. Feel free to submit them, whether a thread or an HTML page.

This will be updated as time goes on, with more articles. These will be converted & moved into the CodeBase when it releases this Summer.

Remember, if you are submitting an HTML version, you can still make a thread. Just entitle it [Article], and I will know to check it over and add it to here.

Thanks again so far to everyone, especially Kiswa who just pumped out TWO today.

Thank you for making use of them. I really only wrote one today. Like I said, the first one I had posted previously elsewhere. I'm glad you guys are finding them useful. Today will bring Part 3!

And I guess you could sign my articles (once they're in CodeBase) as "Matt Ross aka kiswa". I don't suppose it matters if people know my real name. Smile

I'd like to submit my "Why divs are evil and tables are good" article, but I want to fix three typoes and the thread title. Sykil advised me to just open a new thread, wouldn't that be silly?

That article is going to need a bit more refinement, the neversidian staff, which is a usergroup you're in, now has the ability to edit posts after the time.

I know it needs refinement, it was a little rushed. I'll either add parts, or create a follow-up or prequel to compensate...

With all the hassle of having to ask a mod to fix it I was going to let it slip, but now that I can edit it myself, I'll give it a thorough look-through...

What types of articles belong in the codebase?

Would an article on designing with accessibility belong?
Would an article on color scheming belong?

Just wondering...

MrCastle, I wondered the same thing, I was thinking on writing about colour scheming too at one point...

I'm just wondering cause if it belongs in Neversidian, then I won't post it on my site or in the forum cause Neversidian articles must first time appearances or something to that effect if I recall...

I just recently wrote part one of a (maybe) series on certain aspects accessibility...

Edit:

The Neversidian articles aren't exclusive either, the new policy, which I'm not posting, states that.

CodeBase articles are more 'aimed' at guiding people along, and INTRODUCING them to new things. Neversidian is more of entertainment and research articles.

That's the best I could find...

Neversidian articles can only be posted elsewhere 48 hours after their launch in neversidian. After that you can submit them for anything else, CodeBase too I suppose, though I think it's hard to write an article that would fit in both...
