No, about anything but life, though I made the occasional white/black life combo deck. I'm mainly about enchantments. Like astral slide, or soulcatcher's aerie. I also like the good spells like Wrath of God, Battle screech, and similar. I love birds btw, if you hadn't noticed. I'm a big fan of flying creatures, since they are just domination. A 100% flyer deck is always hard to stop... 100% flying deck...that is pretty tough. I like spamming lots of 1/1 rat tokens...probably about 10 of them And then putting into play a "Coat of Arms"... So much fun. I've played Magic off and on for a while now...and at age 28 with free sex whenever I want it under my belt that beats out anything that qualifies me for nerd or geek status. My favorite pairing is black and white. It largely becomes a life game at that point, lots of direct damage and fortifying. My brother will play his major green decks trying to trample the crap out of me or his red deck to hit me as hard and fast as possible, but a good mix of boosting your own life and lots of directly draining your opponent just really can't be beat in terms of frustrating people. Although I'll admit that I have yet to have my goblin deck beaten, it's the smallest deck I have, only one or two artifacts (if that)...I don't know how or why it works but it frustrates the hell out of people to sit there with their individuals they payed $20-$80 EACH for and get taken apart by a $10 deck of goblins. ___________________ Last edited by actionPlant, May 10th, 2005 11:09 PM (Edited 1 times) I play Magic occasionally, but it's not a game I'd enjoy playing often. I own two decks, and don't intend to buy any others. At about $12 a pop, there are better things for me to spend my money on. The game is fun and all, but the only opponents I can round up are my brother, a few close friends, and loads of geeks at a local card shop. The RPG geeks are one of the reasons I avoid playing Magic too often--I don't want to end up being overly associated with them. That sort of thing will lower your reputation. Plus, I usually lose, and I don't have the patience, money, etc. to bother with creating better decks or increasing my skill. In general, I only play Magic on lazy afternoons when my friend and I have nothing better to do. ___________________ Whatever you do, don't click here!
Coat of arms is for noobies I used a combination of battle screech, soulcatcher's aerie and Kirtar's wrath during OBC, now there's a deck... Coat of arms isn't for noobies...I love it in my all-colour spirit deck. I'll have 4 flying lanterns (1/1), 4 wandering ones (1/1) and 2 kami of the old stone (1/7) out. Then I put coat of arms into play: 4 flying lanterns (10/10) I love defeating people with my (previously) 1/1 army. Coat of arms is too expensive to use with weenies, you'll be using a turn to bring out your coat, when you need every turn to swarm weenies. Check my config: I bring out my enchantment turn 2! Meaning that my combo is in place very early, allowing me to sacrifice birds as blockers, while strengthening the others. My favourite setup is building a medium sized army, blocking the opponent's creatures with silly weenies until I've got two battle screeches and kirtar's wrath in my hand. I play kirtar's wrath, all creatures on board die, my aerie fills with tokens, giving all my birds +6/6 or similar. With treshold (which my deck tended to have) Kirtar's wrath gives me two 1/1 spirits. Next turn I play battle screech, tap the two birds and a spirit for flashback of battle screech, then I play my second battle screech and flash it using the two created tokens and another spirit token. I have now 8 7/7 flyings, my opponent has probably one big creature (they all got destroyed), game over... It's easier to play, cheaper to play, more dynamic and gives better results, plus the battle screeches allow you to gain board control in one turn. God I loved my bird deck in OBC... hey guys. i still play mgt and as someone said it you have to know the 'unerdish ppl' to play with. i have friends within that 'circle' and we all hangout go to clubs, get drunk, etc, etc they are fun i am currently playing with a white weenie deck, and its kinda fun. remembers me the ravager/clamp era. of course, nothing is that cool but... ___________________
