how do i create this, here, clean cut -very professional-. any good tutorials around?

dan thats easy......

1: make the background from the entire image #748189
2: create a new layer that is white (int he shape from the menu). or i dont know what the lightest color is mayby even verry light blue #F4F9FF.
3: now put a layer style on it. do a outer glow. Blending mode: Nornal Color: black Size: 7 opacity 20-40%
4: CTRL + click on layer. the menu one (so the menu is selected)
5: do: select > modify > Contract. and contract 2-3 pixels
6: Create a new layer whit the still the selection there. above the other menu layer
7: now take a gradient tool and create the 3D effect in the selection. whit the 2 colors #C9D1D3 and #F4F9FF. from top to bottom.

so the basic part is done.

1. for the selected menu item you just create it whit the rounded rectangle tool and make they layer style gradient overlay whit the colors #ADB2B6 and #F4F9FF.

now just put a font on it and you are done.....

the second things is so easy i'm not even going to explain... lol or someone else can explain it.

You can either use the rounded rectangle tool or the pen tool.

Btw, try to use more descriptive titles for threads.
