Apple Tiger to come out on april 29th

Finally some solid news of when Tiger is coming out. I know not many of you use or care about Apple, but I do both, so I am quite excited for Apple os X 10.4. If you haven't heard or read about it previously, there is some awesome stuff.

Especially take a look at the dashboard business. Mix together equal parts konfabulator and pure awesomeness, and you'll get Apple's dashboard.

I'm eager to see if I can integrate Dashboard and Flash. Makes me drool thinking about the fun I could have . . . probably not a normal sort of behavior. I won't be able to get it right away, so I hope we get a copy here at work to play with.

Cool Any news on if they will be releasing the next upgrade for the Power Mac any time soon? I need to get a Mac, since I use Logic (which Apple bought a few years ago and took away support for PCs), though I'm hoping I can hold out until the dual 2.5GHz systems become the mid-range before taking the plunge, so I can save some significant cash.

I didn't like Macs at first - but it wasn't anything to do with whether they were good or not... I was just turned off by the dogmatic elitism/arrogance of most every Mac user I ever spoke to (i.e. putting me down personally for using one of those gross ugly "PCs")... not that every Mac user is that way, but all that I met were. But I was forced to get into using Macs since my school used only Macs... and after a while I decided I like it quite a bit. I also like Windows XP Pro and Linux quite a bit too though As is usually the case with things, sometimes there are things I wish I could do in Windows that I can do in OSX, and things I can do in Windows I wish I could do in OSX. Sure Macs look nicer than the average PC, but I don't care - I put my computers in my closet so I don't hear them (I record music in my room/studio). Heh my first computer when I was a kid was a Mac actually... an Apple IIGS. Of course it cost more than a nice used CAR haha but oh well.

Well anyhow, in a month or two, hopefully there will finally be a PC and a Mac in my room sitting next to each other like pals. I give up deciding which to have - I'll take both haha

man, when i was watching Steve Job's keynote from the macworld expo, i was like, "wow, its going to be faster!" and then the guy kept blathering about the integradted photo thang. and i was like, "wow, this guy is a loser for trying to one-up google!"
anyway, i don't plan on ever owning a mac, but every now and then i look at their stuff just to see what they're making.

Quite possibly in early June. There are rumors floating around that Apple is going to release a dual 3.0ghz g5. There are also rumors that the g5 laptop is going to come out. lets hope both are true.. or at least one.

I wouldn't really expect a powerbook G5 any time soon. Sounds like the heat issue is still causing big problems there (though I'm no insider so don't make any buying decisions on my account). Updated Power Macs do look like a good bet though.
