Create .htaccess

I'm using my home Windows XP PC with Apache on and I wanted to create a .htaccess file so I could try something except Windows will just not let me make a file without a filename. How can I possibly make this file!!!!!!!!!!!!

Use another Text Editor sounds like your using NotePad i got it working in EditPlus however .htaccess doesnt work on Windows not entirely sure why just never got it working.

over the years i've found that window's is quite a tight *** when it comes to restrictions. DOS will let you override most.

create the file you want as the .htaccess file in notepad..save it as blah.txt in C:\..

now click on the start menu, go to run and type in cd c:\ and press enter, then type in ren blah.txt .htaccess and press enter..
there you go.
