Professional?
Hey boys and girls
Merry Christmas to you all, I hope all of you have a nice christmas this year.
What I was supposed to ask about was:
When can a webdesigner consider himself as a professional?
Sorry if I posted in the wrong forum.
Thanks,
Rariuz

Professional just means you do it for money or make money from it.

I'd say you're a professional when you're making a living on it. You can't exactly throw that term around if a 15 year old makes $50 a month now can you?

I can say I'm making money of it, but not enough to make a living on it
I do, by working on mcdonalds, make about 300$ - 400$ a month
Thanks for the answers, merry christmas!!
God I love christmas.

300-400$ a month is a part time job.

I think a web designer can call him or herself a professional if they have a good client list and make a decent amount of money.
Let me ask you a question:
would you hire a web designer who's client list was rubbish and his design wern't too good but called himself a professional because he earn't a lot of money per month?
i think not.

If his client list was rubbish and his designs were not too good he wouldnt be making enough to live on.

if you can get by on what you make weekly doing design alone then you're a professional, if you make 25 50 here and there then you're a paid hobbyist, which is what i am, i make money on everything i do but i can't get by on the money i make doing design alone.
