Thanks for the suggestions. Yeah, I agree the image does clash with the below navigation, I should probably just make it an image map or something, and then remove the black navigation. Or just make a better image, and leave the black navigation, either work. As for clumping the content, I'll try to spread it out a bit. I like to show a lot at the pages, to me it seems to show that it has more to offer, and since my site attracts a younger age group (mostly for the anime layouts) it seems to work pretty well. I'll keep experimenting with it, and thanks again. ___________________ Reversedlogic.net - Interactive Designing Site "As for clumping the content, I'll try to spread it out a bit. I don't know because I haven't bothered reading. But when displaying content think about it in its simplest form. Read a book, look at the text. That is perfection, now take it to the web enviroment. ___________________
What you can do to redesign is first take away every element from the layout, and then carefully evaluate each piece and get rid of everything that isn't necessary. Then, put what you have left back together in a layout. Don't worry about trying to be fancy. Just make sure you structure the layout in logical order. Follow basic rules of design, such as those concerning emphasis, white space, element "weight," typography (readability), color, lines, etc. Keep it simple and don't worry about making fancy graphics. It seems that the only people who can get away with trying to be fancy are pros who have been doing it for years and know exactly how to make it look great. Try making your site lighter, and using dark colors only for contrast. Use more white space and organize everything so that the most important stuff is read first, and so on. Anyhow, try going with a minimalistic layout. Maximilism (wasn't sure if that is even the right word) only looks good when pros do it, in my opinion. If you just keep it simple and organized and uncluttered and readable, using only the occasional nice graphic, your site will turn out well in most cases. I am by no means a pro, so I am just telling you what I have heard/read/figured out on my own. We're all still learning anyway, even the best designers around. So just keep working. ___________________ Whatever you do, don't click here!
