Anti-Aliasing help

I used the eclipse tool to make a circle with a stroke of 5 pixels, giving me an outlined circle. What i'm trying to do is use the middle of the circle that wasn't used and fill it with a custom color. When I do this, the color in the inside turns up all jagged, and not smooth at all.

Can anybody help me out?

hello

make sure your anti-aliased box is ticked.
see the screencap if you're not sure where it is (shows up when you grab the selection tool)

Thanks for the help, but that's not exactly what I needed.

I used Illustrator for the job, worked perfectly.

Well, the result of having jagged edges is from not using the anti-aliasing option. You should really use the shape tool and just initiate a stroke layer style to have better control.
