All these people say design the initial stage in photoshop. They are wrong. Get a scribble pad and put it infront of your monitor or somewhere thats comfortable. draw rectangles for your site layout. like a big one then draw all the sections and stuff youll need, menus, dividers, etc.

Designing in photoshop is iffy, personally alot of achopped up site ends up being one solid colour. So instead i construct the site and create it so that it looks like the image. Afterall a picture of solid black is going to take longer to load than solid black code. And not only that but the tables will end up being pretty much exactly the same too.

hmm i just scrolled down and saw that this thread is apparently 3 years old =P I never did read to the end or notice that, oh well.
