Any idea how to create these kind of icon???
what kind of software is the best to use to create these?

Any tutorials for references???

Some may have been rendered in a 3D program, but most could be made with shapes, gradients, shadows, and maybe some airbrushing.

Check the sticky in this forum, you'll find TONS of tutorials.

You'll need an image program - I personally would use Macromedia FireWorks.

I'd have to disagree. There is a possibility that they could be made in 3D, but these ones in particular are not.

Your best bet is to use Photoshop or Illustrator. Personally, I'm a Photoshop fan through and through, but these effects are rather simple and can be done in Illustrator as well.

Thank you for all of the replies. Actually i am using photoshop for quit sometimes already, but it is hard to create these kind of icons... and i dun think they are created by any 3D software(may be i am wrong... )

For Hamstu, i cant found any tuitorials thats about create these kind of icons... or may be u can help me to find one or two??? i really tried to... but cant find.

hmmm they def look like photoshop - quite easy to recreate with simple gradients and some carefully place highlights
