Instrumentals and Accapellas

how do so many people get these? do they use a program to take away the beat and singing or do they just have the promo file?!

you can either dl them (legally of course) or purchase the singles they almost always have the instrumental and acapella

so downloading/buying the only way?

I think on records instrumentals are on the other side..well on some hip-hop records at least. And accapellas are no instruments, aren't they? Oh, you could always make your own

as far as i know yes, i don't think its possible to pull them apart because when music is compiled its merged to one channel, it is possible to filter out certain aspects like i've done it before for vocals to scratch but its alot of work and takes alot of tweaking with the eq and what not, i did it from a tutorial i found on the net that used adobe audition which is what i use in my home studio but its really not much fun and i basically did it to see if i could and the outcome wasn't all that great.
