Animated Snow
Hello y'all, first post here
.
I apologize if it's been posted or asked already but I couldn't find what I was looking for with the search feature...
I've been hunting around the internet for the last hour for a decent tutorial for an animated snow effect and nothing so far... I was wondering if anyone knew of a decent one or perhaps somebody could come up with one. The tutorial here doesn't work very well with snow. I'd also like it to be a smooth animation rather than just flipping between 4 or 5 layers. I could do it in Flash rather easily but you lose alot of quality because it's all vectors.
Thanks in advance for any help!

Flash > GIF animation. You won't lose quality.

I went and saved each layer as a .PNG file and imported them all into Flash and animated them. Here's what it turned out as when I exported it as a .GIF. The reason I want it as a .GIF is most sites won't allow you to link to a .SWF file in your signature.

And here's it in .SWF format:

Well, if you adjusted the optimization of the dark background I'm sure you can get it very similar.

Im not sure if this will help but i made to make some snow for a client for a while back. The is a cool plug-in in after effects that you can get off thier website trapcode.com and its called particle. You can make some realistic snow if you mess with enough. If your using flash there has to be a way to import it in. If you dont know Aftereffects, I cant help you.
