Adware problem help plz
I share this computer with others in my house, and I came home yesterday to some nice adware. A browser enhancer to be precise. It goes under several different names, but is mainly called C2Media or something like that. Anyhow, it set my homepage to http://searchweb2.com/ and added a stupid browser bar AND a bar at the bottom that I am still trying to get rid of (see screenshot).
I tried a few things, but then went to the site and checked the FAQ on how to get rid of this adware. I checked the add/remove list and it wasn't appearing under any of the names provided. I downloaded the uninstaller made for the software, and ran it, it worked... but IT KEEPS COMING BACK! I am doing fine on my computer for ~30 minutes-1hr, and then I go to open a browser and the bottom bar comes back randomly! It's really annoying and I don't know what to do, Spybot isn't finding anything related to it... should I try ad-a-ware? last time I used it, it didn't do **** all for me... help plz

Well, since my original post, I have tried SO many different things... but to no avail. Using firefox avoids having that damn blue bar come up, but it still randomly adds ~5 icons to my desktop and fvourites every week or so...
Has anyone seen this adware before? perhaps if I can find more info about it, it will make it easier to get rid of...apparently it was installed when I updated MSN... ?
Thanks in advance.

I remember a friend having this before, I think eventually they ended up backing up their files and formatting their hard disk.

Hey, I have this adware at the moment, lol. I use Firefox so am no longer cursed with that dreaded bottom tool bar, but the favourites/desktop icon thing is a bit annoying.
I'll keep checking this to see if you find a solution :P

That's what MsgrPlus! installs... unistall MsgrPlus! and it asks if you want to keep the sponsor, click no. Reinstall it but read it carfully, it asks if you want to install the sponsor also, click no.

Download and install spyware search and destroy: http://www.safer-networking.org/en/mirrors/index.html
First thing is make sure you run it and hit the update button.
THen open it in advanced mode and go to tools on the left hand menu. CLick on system starup and then uncheck everything that you dont want or need to run on startup. Then run spybot and it should find lots of crap, just go ahead and get rid of it all.
THen, download ad-aware: http://www.lavasoftusa.com/support/download/
Same thing as above, update, run and clean. Should take a little time, but those two can handle almost any problem.

try spysweeper if you havn't yet. its the best spy-removing software available, imo. it should get rid of your problems. also, make you sure you get all updates for your spy-removal applications.
