It has been a while since I have posted on here, I thought I should put something up... I am building up from a friend's sketch. It has been something that I have been messing around with for the past week. Still got a bit to do though.

I know i have the rest of his shirt to finish, his jeans to brighten up a bit, and the hair / ears to do.

Should I keep the background on this or no? This is just a test.

Plus any other suggestions would be helpful.

Is there some utorial online that can teach us how to do this?

I think you should keep the background - it fits in well. Other than that, I think it looks amazing. Great work!

dhv: Well, there is a million tutorials, but trial and error works better. I will give you some advice that a friend gave me when it comes to this... 'Read on color theory, study highlights, mid tones and shadows... then inspect EVERTHING else that is around you to train your eyes to pick out colors and forms.' Google digital painting tutorials and traditional painting works. Asking artists questions on how they did a specific technique does not hurt either. Also, PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE!
