There's no question at all that the videogame industry makes more money per year than Hollywood does.. BY FAR. I was just stating that his example wasn't a fair comparison. Well, I did compare 4 movies.. to one video game. But, Moneywise the video game market domiantes 10-fold. Client wise... There is about 5-7 people viewing a movie, per 1 video game. So... 40 million would mean, that there are about 12 times more movie tickets sold than video games.. :P ___________________ "There is no such thing as a Stupid Question, JUST STUPID PEOPLE"
It makes no difference in halo 1 if you fire in bursts or on full auto with the assault rifle, so your supposed point is invalid. The assault rifle is still a mostly useless weapon against most of the other weapons in the game. You are ignorant if you think it makes sense that you can fire a pistol with dead on precision from 150 yards away like you can in halo, or that an assault rifle is a weaker weapon no matter how far away you are, or how you choose to shoot it. And yes, I have shot a real weapon before. I know how guns work. Rifles deal more damage per second than pistols do at 50+ yards. Also, I would highly recommend you stop with the name calling, or do you want some warning points? I will be happy to give them to you. ___________________ Hello. Video Games industry did not always have the upper hand. Movies usually generated higher profits than games did. So in profits and record sale, where far from oranges and apples... Both can easily be compared, as most news media do it to this day. ___________________ Last edited by lucidique, November 17th, 2004 09:28 AM (Edited 1 times) studviciousStatus: Offline!
*sigh* I'm being misunderstood here. What I'm saying is that if ticket sales for those movies were at $50/piece like Halo is - it would be an entirely different story. Video games generate more revenue per capita. Every time one $50 video game is bought, 5 people have to go see a $10 movie for it to balance out. ___________________ Down, A rifle doesn't deal more damage, sorry to tell you. Burst Fire with a rifle is not as accurate as you think... I've been shooting since I was 9... I own many rifles myself, and I shoot on a regular basis.. My dad owns a military surplus store www.gijanemilsurplus.com you don't know much about guns, but it's cool. Just so you know that pistol in the game is a guaranteed 1" MOA at 200 yards... if u know what that means, cool if not, oh well... that pistol is tailored for accuracy and damage... -David ___________________ "There is no such thing as a Stupid Question, JUST STUPID PEOPLE"
Yes i understand what you meant, sorry about that. ___________________ PhaeseStatus: Offline!
... The textures, I agree, could have been improved. When you have very dramatic lighting, they looks great, but once you have insane amounts of ambient light (i.e. during daytime) their bump-mapping fails and you see that they're really not all that spectacular. Multiplayer, multiplayer... Alls I can say is that XBox live kicks ***. Plus, so many people play Halo 2, you quickly find people that: a) don't suck (both at the game and at life) I'm not saying other games have this problem, I'm saying it's a nice feature of hype and XBox live. Finally... It really pisses me off when people go throwing "casual" and "hardcore" around. "Hardcore" just another label people attach to themselves in an effort to be able to get to sleep at night. There will be "hardcore" people that will stand by Halo 2 as though their seemingly-religious zeal will earn them virgins in heaven, and there will "hardcore" people that will stand agaisnt the tide of obviously brainwashed Halo 2 players and, being the great rebels they are, try and convert the devout so that they might see the light of "OMGZ0RZ LIEK 1337 H4RDC0R3 G4MING!!11." ___________________ <comment id="witty"></comment> I skipped the last page of non-sense, and must say Down is absolutely right about the pistol being overpowered in the first Halo - at least for the PC version. I remember taking out an entire team just by sitting there with a pistol. That stuff was fun ___________________ Nick |
