problem in Illustrator (and I'm about to go insane!!!)
hey everyone
I'm fairly new to Illustrator, but I'm stuck with a frickin problem that is pissing me off and I have no clue what so ever on what to do about it. The thing is, when I trace something with the pen tool, everything is fine until I press Alt or Ctrl to rework on a point while my shape isn't closed. When I do so, the shape just disappears from the screen (it's still there, in the layers, and I can still work on it, but I can't see it). Does anyone know what I'm talking about and can help me?? I'm pretty sure that it is something in the options somewhere, but I don't know what....
can anyone help?!
I'm using Illustrator CS
Thanks!!

illustrator does have a command to hide the current selection. Its under the object menu and its shortcut is CTRL+3 ....are you sure you aren't hitting this on accident?

no sorry guys none of these worked out.... I really don't know how to explain it otherwise... Like I said, everything is fine untill I hit Ctrl or Alt... as soon as I play with the curve, everything goes bye bye... it did this to me once, then it seemed to be fixed for a while and now it's back and haunting me more than ever before... I think it wants me dead...
but thanks anyway!

ooh.... think I found my answer
when I switch the fill and contour colors, then switch them again to their original place, everything gets normal afterwise.... (??)
I don't get why, but let's hope it works everytime from now on!
