Are there any photoshop tutorials that teaches you how to design layouts? afterwhich slicing?

I think design's should come from yourself, or do you mean teach you to use Photoshop to make better designs?

Just make sure you don't export the sliced HTML code from Photoshop!

Don't listen.. do export from photoshop, then modify the code, or change it to divs. Makes things a whole lot easier.
Or you can do it the long way.. export the images, start looking at all their heights and widths.

Photoshop's code is sloppy and the majority of the time a lot of people export it into tables. If you know what you're doing it's a not "the long way".

No, it still is HTML code - only a really bad code.
