Started a free phpbb forum hoster at www.phpbbforfree.com

We just opened today and do not have our design done yet. But you can start signing up to get your free phpbb forum hosted. We currently just uploaded 235 forum skins from you to choose from. Our design and information will be on the site by the end of next week. www.phpbbforfree.com spread the word and let everyone know about our new service, part of the EDK Network.

How difficult would it be to move a forum to your server?

The band's site I maintain may be shutting down due to lack of funds but we have a decent amount of visitors and I may have to break the site down to a few different locations until I get my personal space going...

how big is the site? visitors, etc a day? I can possibly convert the forum over to our site but its dependent on how many visitors you get. it might be better to start a new one with us and point ot the old one as archives.

It's not all that big, I have some mod's on there that can go. We get lots of visitors but it is sort of an exclusive fan base that posts.

I guess it may be easier to start over as it is just a casual thing and the visitor intensive stuff is on the main site.

Well if noone else form the band can foot the bill I will probably come find you in a month or so and just start a new board for them....

There's an option in the phpbb admin page to backup database. You should be able to do that and reload it on the new forum.

not in this one it has been disabled. I am running scripts that will not allow that for saftey reasons. Its not a typical host where they get their own subdomain, but they do get their own forum and everything, just the sql stuff tehy don't get to touch and what not.

That's what I kinda figured, The only thing that's really "added" is the image gallery and music online mod's but those files are on the server which may go down...
