Is there a way I can have this work!?

Ok I have this website : http://eleetgaming.com/index2.html

I want to make 2 side bars on each side for features/links etc. But I do not want tables to be shown and mess up the 'graphic' side of the site..

How can I make two bars graphically go down the side without tables? Or if I have to, with tables, how?

I have been stuck on this. If I put images in the cells then I can't type over them. If I set the cells with background images, I can type in them but they expand and mess up with higher resolutions.

Do I make it one big background image ? I am lost.

A site that has an example of this is: http://wc3.ogresnet.com/

Thanks for anyone's help...appreciate it Smile

I'm not sure if I understand your question correctly, but I think you need to set height and width attributes for your table cells that you do not want to expand, and then the center that you want to expand needs to be a repeating image.

You can float the bars to the left and right of the screen. This is unfortunately in relation to the screen... If you code your layout for resolutions bigger than 640x480, people who view at 640x480 will see a jumbled screen. The best thing would be to code using margins, padding, and width to space out the three columns. I unfortunately must retire to my bedroom as I must begin school quite early.
