15k max, but I guess if Inet wanted it, they can pay more. I do not see why would anyone would want it though, it is filled with young people with no skills that never buy anything.

That's totally uncalled for. Your outlashed remarks are really wearing thin on my patience and my staff. If you have such a huge distaste for this community, go somewhere else Noxcel, quit spamming your put downs all over the place simply because you don't like it here, yet you still hang around, even if it's just for the fact of doing so to make your arrogant and condescending remarks.

Ah the age old question. Well let me put it this way. As has been said, TF would probably not be able to be sold for the "amazing high price" that we all really feel it's worth. I value TF, all you great members, and everything that TF is far too much to sell it for the price most potential buyers would be interested in paying. Also, while TF doesn't in fact make bundles and bundles of advertising profit (yet that is, I hope) it still does add up within a year or two to be as much or more than what anyone would offer (has offered) to buy TF for.... I'm here to stay, in this for the long haul. True I haven't been online as often as before, since I'm putting 100% into college, but I still care a TON about TF and all you members that make it what it is. And of course..... "I'll be back" Wink

Would I sell TF if someone offered enough to "really" make it worth it (i.e. upper 5 digits, 6+ digits)? Sure, probably (though I would of course start over from scratch and get a community going again). Will that happen? Quite doubtful.

On another note, I don't feel that some equation of "current monthly profits times 1.5 years + etc etc" is a valid way of judging the value of a site.... because for one, I'm perfectly content to sit tight for 1.5 years and make that same amount anyhow (probably more even), and secondly, the monthly profit is what "I" make from the site, with limited time/effort.... the buyer would intend to make exponentially/vastly more -- what I'm saying is, I understand what the site is worth "to them" which is important in determining a price that's actually fair. A perfect diamond is really nothing but a sparkly rock... but to the person who desires it, it is worth a small fortune.

Regarding server expenses.... true, it is very expensive, though TF is not our sole website - we need the server with or without TF anyhow to run AC, upcoming TC/Neverside, etc... and at the moment AC makes enough profit to keep things afloat, and keep me from having to work 2-3 jobs while in college haha Tongue Though that's about it. I would even run TF at a loss for as long as I could manage if it ever came to that.

LOL as you can tell I'm a bit bored this evening and just felt like typing a bunch haha (long day at school). Hope I was able to add a bit to the discussion though Smile

Peace.

Indeed Dave! I didn't expect to see you reply.

One of the main reasons I ended up being an administrator is due to Dave's commitment to college and his music. Otherwise, who knows. Either way, the staff I know are passionate about this place and put in a lot of time to try and maintain quality control while giving everyone their say.

Also, we all saw the lovely reaction in the April Fool's thread from the joke of us even selling, imagine if we really did? We know you guys love this place, and that's why we do our best to keep it alive and maintain everything with it, not to mention working our best to expand it.

Dave's been with TF over 3 years now, he's definately here to stay after as many times as previous 'owners/admins' of communities get changed over and politics, Dave has remained here regardless, so regardless of how much this place is worth, Dave would probably never sell unless the selling price could also go into his retirement fund, lol. So Dave would definately not sell without a fight.

I also wouldn't stand for it, and there have been a few people who make bids for it every now and then sometimes it's serious, most of the time it's not. Either way, we know most of you guys who are dedicated and awaiting us to finish the new expansion wouldn't stand for it and leave, and we'd just kill the community.

If money was ever an issue, I'd be there as I am right now. Since I am even going in as a full paying partner for the new server and facility we're moving to, that will reduce costs on Dave's end and give us the performance and bandwidth we need to go ahead with our plans.

So in closing, TF isn't going anywhere, it's just going to expand into something new, but it'll never expand into being sold off unless it was an extreme emergency, and even then we'd still try to find a way for us to keep it.

Would you really want the site to be bought though??? It would just become another commerical outlet and would slowly stifle any creativity of any members.

Me, I'm happy with it the way it is.
