solid coloured backgrounds in cinema 4d
how do you produce solid coloured backgounds which allow shadows to be shown but do not lose colour in the far distance?
-the only way i can figure out how to get pure white (not fading to black) is to add luminance to the material, but this stops the shadows and causes way to much white reflection on my model.
am i going about this the wrong way? -is there some settings for lights which make it just as bright 1000m away as it is at the center point? i can get a pure white background by editing it in photoshop, but then i lose my floor shadows.
any help would be much appreciated - i've been stuck on this one for a while now.

Is this the sort of effect you want? (attached image)
1. create a sky object (Objects->Scene->Sky)
2. Create a floor object (Objects->Scene->Floor) Or you could just add a plane under the objects you want shadowed.
3. Create a new material with everything turned off apart from luminance. Set the luminance colour to the colour you want the background to be. Apply this material to the sky object.
4. Create another material this time with only the colour attribute. Set this to the background colour (Same as the luminance of the sky) Make sure you turn the brightness to 100%. Apply this to the floor object.
5. Set up your lights as you would normally.
6. Apply a compositing tag to the floor object (Right Click in object manager-> Tags -> Compositing Tag) and tick Compositing background.
7. If you are using radiosity go back to the sky's material and into its Illumination settings and uncheck 'Generate GI'.
8. Render the image!
