How can I re-create this text effect?

Hi,

I saw this very neat text effect that i like. If you go to: http://www.msiamo.com/www/start.html and then go to the "contact page" the designer created the word Msiamo in a 3d effect, i think it looks very cool. Could someone direct me to a tutorial or explain how this 3d effect is created. Id love to try and create this effect.

That was done outside of photoshop, using a 3d software package.

There is a tutorial somewhere on how to fake it, but the results wont be the same.. I'm sure someone knows where the tutorial is at.

... it cant be that hard to figure out how to do that in photoshop.

seriously, just duplicate and change colors and add drop shadows

I think grubnubnub is right about being done out of PS. My guess would be Xara 3D, which is good for just such occasions.

I'm sure a search of good-tutorial.com can get you something pretty close, with a little improvisation.

Well, judging the quality of the 3d efect, I'm quite sure it was done usinga 3d program, like 3d max or similars, as grubnubnub said...

You can easily simulate that using Illustrator or a plugin that is not installed by defualt in PS. Here's a link on the tutorial for it.
