I just got it this morning and programmed it completely in about 15 minutes, complete with compass. This thing offers a TON of protection. The compass is even faster than my Blazer's. It's incredible. The only bad thing is the cord reaches acrossed my CD player....which looks bad. But, I'm getting a new car in about a week anyway, so I don't have to worry about fixing it.

Just like in OH, here in PA they're perfectly legal Smile

Ive been thinking of getting one myself, but never got around to doing that. I speed everyday, every minute of driving pretty much and have never been caught SO FAR, but Ive gotten some close calls hehe. I commute to college and drive on the highway everyday. Good thing I know main cop spots everywhere around Pittsburgh area but still Im interested where this thread is going. Id like to find out more myself.

Anywhere really. No matter where you buy just as long as its not a knockoff Tongue Try ebay

Dimitry

I heard an advertisement on the radio, they listed off four states that I have made them illegal and you can't buy them. Not sure which ones though :-/

They're legal in the UK Smile. The best way seems to be to have a GPS based device (that knows the location of fixed speed cameras), which alerts you when you're approaching a speed camera location. But also have a radar detector, for mobile speed cameras.

There's also a few on the market that can actually block a policeman's radar gun, but they're a legal grey area hehe.

I think you can coat the liscence plate with some transparent glue or something as well, which reflects the camera - a legal grey area for sure, but you can always remove it as they send a letter before taking a look Smile

They can get past the old 'clingfilm on the plate' trick now with the digital cameras that they use. They got some software that makes it possible to make out the reg.

Shame.

Tonight it worked perfectly! I was radared twice, K radar, and got away clean both times. One the cop was directly radaring me though because he saw it. I was slowing down to turn anyway, lol.

Day 2 of radar detector: I get a speeding ticket for doing 85 in a 60 by lazer.

Un-freaking-real.

Laser detectors are hard to hide from. The beam is so concentrated that by the time its on you and your detector sees it, the cop already knows how fast you are going. Just about any detector can outsmart the older radar detectors, but to outsmart the new ones, it gets more tricky. Look for one that emmits IR rays to confuse the new LADAR guns.

At this point, you had better just slow down. Its not worth it to risk your license

There is a reason for speed limits. They're not just decorations on the sides of the road.
