How to fill this picture?

Can anyone help? The layer problem stick on me.
I am not familiar with illustrator so I change to photo shop. When I try to fill it, it fill whole picture because there is only 1 layer.

You must close all paths in order to get a full fill.
There have been a few threads regarding this already, just use the search box available at the bottom part of the Illustration forum and you'll easily find the threads.
