Exporting Colors

Hey ya'll

I'm having a little problem with my photoshop 7.0... When i make an image in photoshop.. it seems as if the the picture looks lighter in photoshop... but when i export it's darker... for example i made a logo that was a dull blue.. but when i exported it turned out purple...

i've reset the color settings and i've colliberated (or how ever you spell it) my monitor.... i've also exported both in JPEG and GIF at maximum quality and have tried save for web too. my current color setting is at Web Graphics Default.. anyways if any of you guys could help me, that would be awesome!

make sure its in RGB colors, and not CMYK

lalal when you go into your advanced color palette if you look at the top next to the two sample colors the original and the one you just made.. theres a little button.. looks like a cube. click it and itll switch the color so that its web safe and wont change colors once you save it.. ta dah
