You could make that in maya but you'd have to import you're render in Photoshop or Paint shop pro. Try messing around a bit in Maya and you should get the hang of it after a while. Don't expect to model a car from the beginning cause you won't be able to do that. Try beginning with several simple things and render them.

Every 3d platform has 3 parts to it:
modeller == allows u to model things obviously
animator == allows u to add movement to models
renderer == renders to a common format!
some programs have seperate starts for this, like lightwave, which consists of 2 parts.. But Maya and 3dsm, both have 3 elements implemented into the main program.

i've never used 3dsmax but i know maya also has a dynamics "part" to it as well. I'm assuming that 3dsmax has it as well since its quite an important thing for effects and what not.

i wouldn't go on about how you downloaded Maya, though.
against the rules, and all.
but yeah, what they said. the program will make the models. photoshop/anyotherprogram will add the 2d part.

I would like to know one thing. First of all the thing you downloaded... is it the full version or just a demo?
Anyway I heard maya was the top best branded software for 3d animation and game development. It will obviously be depthy to get into, but I'm sure the results will be spectacular.
Hope things work out
