Is GMail all that great?
I know GMail offers 1000MB and stuff, but is it really worth all the begging and stuff? Sure, you never will have to delete an e-mail again. Big whoop.

No, it's not worth begging for. When it does go live, however, it's worth it in every way.

Gmail has a lot of new features no other e-mail services has. You can search through your e-mail with keywords for instance.

Yeah, I don't really need 15,000 e-mails in my mailbox. I don't know how much Cox gives me, and I never intend to find out, because after I read an e-mail I delete it unless I know I'm going to use it later, like if it's for a school project or something. There's never more than 20 old e-mails in my mailbox.

not worth begging or any of the other 'pathetic' exchanges like can be seen on gmailswap but it really is more then just the google name and 1 gb of space.
it's just set up so well, coded really well (java goodness), nice little features that just enhance the experience. it really is great.

In a word... no. I far prefer using my own mail servers, but I can see it's uses. The hype it has created is just good planning by Google. People always want what they can't have, so by limiting g-mail accounts they create a lot of demand.
I prefer it over hotmail, but it's not THAT amazing. It's just the same as hotmail, but with more space and fewer adverts.

Well, I guess its worth it if you don't really have to beg anyone. I just asked someone for an invite and they sent it to me.

yes... Gmail knows better that we user won't use up all 1GB of disk space... can you just imagine what many Emails will there be if all the 1GB of space is being used up?!
many spam mails will sure be flooding into the mailbox that we would be so confused to find our important email out of those piles of emails in that 1GB space...
ANyway, i have created a free site http://www.diskhub.com where it allows users to upload any files...their working files online... as backup or even to be shared by friends from ard the world...
so we won't need to really use those FRee email space as backup of images or important files anymore with this site...diskhub.com
try using it... my comments
