Hello all and here comes the problem.

Hi all, im new to the forums. Been observing it for a while and finally mastered up the courage to register. Grin

Now to the problem:

I have done my web layout and now the only thing i need to do is to sliced it up!

The problem is,The slice tool in Photoshop doesnt wanna follow instructions! Lets say i just want to slice the selected portions. But the slice tool creates unnecessary slices which i do not want.

Someone with more knowledge with this could you plaes help me or refer me to somewhere i can solve my problem?

Cheers.

When you slice, the whole image has to be sliced, You can't just slice part of it, so photoshop creates slices so that the whole image is in the slices...

so, if you slice the part you want then Save as Web it, you'll get an image for every slice and just delete the onse you dont want

Simple as that :P

In Fireworks, I'd right click the slice and hit "export slice...". That would just export the one slice.

Don't know what that would be in photoshop. Moving to the photoshop forum.

umm
if you go to save for web mode thing, and do your settings. then right click on the slices u dont want and there should be a thing that disables them so u dont have to save them

and also ( i think) while you saving it, try setting your custom setting for saving, where you should be abel to set upe axctly what slices u want to save

hope this helps.

Yah, It has to create all slices. IF you think about it, it makes sense. You can't slice part of the image and leave a few pixels out. Slice means the whole image.

No. Slice means cut out the images.
