Photoshop does not create animation, what you want is it's evil little brother, ImageReady. But as Niek says, dedicated GIF animators, make the process that much easier, as they'll have transition effects (ie.fade, sweep, etc) preprogrammed for you.

There's a pile of them out there, (Babarosa, Zoner, Selteco, to name a few). Check out some of the freeware sites and y ou'll find a bunch there, also.Roll Eyes

if you have imageready.... you can do if, lemme find a tutorial, well couldent find one real quick, so lemme open up imageready

1. Open all your image, they dont have to be the same size, but might help.
2. Create another image that's the size of what you want the file product..
3. Drag all your images you want to be in the animation onto the new one you made.
4. Go to Window> Click "Animation" and it should open a box, if it's not open.
5. In the animation thing, click the new slide button or what ever. And it should create another one of what was alardy there.
6. Select the 2nd frame you made, and then go into your layers window and click the eye to make the first layer, disappear and in the animation thing it should change the 2nd picture, but not the first.
7. Then on the animation thing, click the button to the left of the one that you clicked to make the 2nd frame, called tween. Select Tween with Prevous frame, and click how ever many frames you want, the more the smoother the image is, but the larger the file size and the longer it will take. It should generate alot of things in the animation box.
8. In the animation box click the very last frame it made, then click the button that duplicates the current frame. Then, go into your layers tablet and make sure that the first, and next layer's are hidden
9. In the last frame, the one that was a duplicate, it should show something totally different from the frame before, since you hid the picture above.
10. Press the tween button again and select tween with previous frame, and select how many frames.
11. Continue on making images disappear and stuff and tweening till you get to your last image.
12. Go to the last frame you have, and duplicate it, then go to tween, and this time select, tween with first frame, and then you should be done, and the last and the first frame should look some what the same.
13. Go to file>save optomized as> select file name> press save and it should save it as a .gif

That should help you.. took me bout 2 minutes to type, so I hope so.

If you dont have imageready the process is some what the same in all gif making programs

ummm did you click "save optimized as.."
well if that didnt work just go through and click all the options in file called "save as" till you find one that saves as a gif. But "Save Optimized as..." worked for me... press Ctrl+Alt+Shift+S and that's the dialog box I get to.... letting me save it as a gif
