I'm not necsesarily saying thats a bad thing, but if its a logo it needs to be original, and not make people think of another companies logo, especially if its a large company....

I do feel that it seems all squashed together..and the blue gradient just doesn't sit right. What you could try doing is just spacing out the objects in the logo, like in the example i have attached.

Over time, if you learn anything about me, it will be that second-guessing me about my assumptions is a sucker's game. I know what i know, and have the intelligence to know what i don't, and i have the winning percentage to back up my beliefs.

Okay
Yes follow antaris lead, his version is definately in the right direction.
As a consequence of this fast medium and his aim to help in a timely manner, of course, his version was the "quick n dirty" method.
So it's your task to work from there, if you decide to recreate that precise style, refine the gradient fade and reduce the sub-caption text size and "we have a winner".
later

I definately likeWow thanks for the replies guys. You know, I didn't even think about it looking like the NBC logo. I just saw that pic and thought it would look good in a logo.

Wow, thanks for taking the time to make that! I really like how that looks. I'll mess around with that idea and see what I can come up with.

Alright....I messed with the colored oval effect, just trying to recreate what he did. I used the elliptical marquee tool, then used the gradient tool on the selections. I noticed that his have a darker boarder around the edges. I'm still trying to figure out how to do that. Also, I'm goning to have to change the font I have. I like the ones he had, but I don't have them on my computer so I'll have to find out what they are.
Well, I'll work on it some more later.
Thanks!
