my screens shrunk!!
I just got my Laptop out and i havent used it for about 7 weeks. I turn it on and the screen is way out of proportions at start-up. Its fine when it loads into windows, but on its way there its shrunk to about half the size of the screen.
Its like a screen in a screen. Any ideas cos its freakin annoying???

tried it. I have noticed that it changes to, depending on whats on thescreen in DOS. Like a Linux Installation screen is bigger than a WinME Install screen. If that means anything.

your talking about the bootup screen that tells you your processor, ram, etc like the second you boot up - black screen, white text, etc?

sorry, ill try and make it a bit clearer. On startup, before windows has loaded, the Dell Logo pops up and Windows ME (in my case) starts "loading...." with the WinME logo and colourful squares.
All this process on start-up on my 17" screen, i only see about a 9" screen with the rest of the screen just black.
I load into Windows where my video drivers take over and everything is fine. Its not the resolution, its just the screen has shrunk, literally.
The attatchment 'might' help, show off my great Paint skills...

Thats nothing out of the ordinary...in fact its completely normal, depending on the resolution of the screen before it loads windows...
