Converting PS vectors to AI vectors.

I couldn't never get AI to open my PS vector properly no matter what file format I use. The most luck I had was with the PDF format, but even that format had many issues with the layers. Is there some plugin, or a way to convert PS vectors to AI vectors? I wanna move over to AI and my current WIPS, I really want to finish them in AI.

the main reason you're having problems is that ps doesn't create real vectors. doesn't matter what you do....ps vectors are still raster.

are you sure when you say that "PS vectors are still rasters"?? When I draw with the pen tool to create a path, I often choose the "export paths to illustrator" option and it works just fine.

However, I seem to have the same problem that speed has in that when i try to fill/stroke this newly-imported path is illustrator is comes out all messed up. Like certain areas are filled where they would come up as a strole in PS etc... if you guys know how to make illustrator fill or stroke a path exactly as it comes out in photoshop that'd be much appreciated. Thanks!

Not sure where chaka42 gets that information from??
thats totally incorrect.

As for trying to get the vectors over to Illustrator try these few options:
A) Save the file as Photoshop EPS, then open in Illustrator
B) Select the Path (or Vector Object), 'Edit/ Copy', go to Illustrator, with document open, 'Edit Paste'.
C) 'File/Export Paths to Illustrator'. This will prmpt to Save the file as .ai file. Open in Illustrator. Though nothing is visible once opened, just hit 'Ctrl + A' to reveal the Path.

For Illustrator use, Fills and Strokes work a little differently than Photoshops methods. Most of which occurs inside the 'Apparence Pallete' (Shift + F6) and/or the separate 'Stroke Palette' (F10)

As for your fills looking a little edgy, the only thing I can think of is make sure your in 100% view of your document.

hope these help
