Just wanted to say HI!
Hi!!
Joined in the hopes of learning and sharing PSP stuff. I also own PS CS (a gift from a client, believe or not, she works at Adobe
) But for now PSP is my focus. I got the beta 8 when it was released and played with it and liked it allot. I'm room mates with a good friend and we were BOTH sick as dogs during the holidays so we managed to exchange cards and gift certificates. Mine was for Best Buy and low and behold they had PSP 8, so that's what I got for XMas/Birthday!
So if you see me comin' with question, DUCK, there will be lots!!
I like this place. Slick and well thought out unlike the Jasc forums (buggy, no formatting, no emoticons and no logging on half the time, sux!! ) Oh well, maybe they will get it together but I'm here!!

Hello Richard! Welcome to TF
Feel free to post your questions any time you wish.
I don't know if you have seen it already, but on the top of the PSP forum we have a Sticky with many useful links: http://www.tutorialforums.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=37727

Hi Jaci,
Thanks for the welcome. I discovered the sticky post above for sure and looked over some of the provided links. I had such a busy day yesterday setting up PSP with all sorts of add ins and testing scrips and what not, didn't get to bed untill 1:00 AM
I do have a question about Scripts. What is the difference between "Restricted Scripts" and "Trusted Scripts"?? located in the PSP 8 Program Files folder.
Many thanks
Richard

Hey Richard,
Unfortunately I can't help you with PSP8 (I only use 7).
But... when it comes to finding out what some specific terms mean, the help file provided by Jasc should be enough - it might not teach you how to use the tool/command/effect/etc., but it is most likely to lighten up your way.
If, however, that doesn't help you, try posting a new thread specifically about this ("difference between scripts" or something like that) - not everyone looks at welcome-like messages.

When you download scripts from third-party site it is better to save them in restricted, you never know when file is infected. The official Jasc scripts and scripts you make by yourself (or someone you trust) can go to trusted. I think that if you save them to trusted you have more pissibilities later. I save all to restricted and I don't miss anything.

Hi again,
Another question about scripts. How can you tell which ones work on vector and which one's work on raster objects?? I've had a couple of incedences that the script refused to run and I figured it must be due to something like that.
Thanks again!!

Hm, I can't help you with that. You try?
I don't really know much about scripts coz I've just started to learn about them.

Hi emz,
I am working my way through the scripts right now and they seem to work on either raster or vector but they need to be applied to solid filled with no effects added to them. What I have found is that most of the scripts will present dialogs that will ask you here and there what you want to do and at one point you will be asked if the original shape can be deleted and I always answer NO, so in case I can use for something else it's there on it's own layer.
