AOL Problem!

Hey guys, I've just got a temporary connection up back at home with AOL, usin the standard old 56k. Thing is, for some reason graphics dont display properly with AOL or Internet Explorer! I mean, is it cos of the connection speed or something?

They tend to be all blurry or fuzzy, as though someone's made scratch effects, sometimes with it have like a 20 x 20 px square half way in the middle of the image! lol it's jus kinda freaking me out, I mean is it to do with AOL themselves? It's not just any website, its ALL websites I visit. Does this happen to anyone eles or is it just me unluckily? Any feedback would be appreciated, thanks in advance Wink

This is what I mean, have a look at the attachment and notice the header for TF. It's exactly the same in both the AOL 8.0 browser and IE6 and it's really badly annoying me!

I can't remember exactly where this option is since I'm not an AOHell user, but I do remember dealing with this from a developers standpoint. There is an option in your AOL preferences somewhere that says something like "compress web graphics". It's somewhere in your view or preferences or something. And even if you use IE outside of AOL, it takes over and tweaks the graphics. It's doing some lame *** server side compression garbage. But you can turn it off if you find that option. It's just a little toggle checkbox in your preferences.

Hope that puts you on the right path... I know how horrible AOL graphics look.. bleah.

Go to Internet Options > Something about compressed graphics....
AOL has this feature turned on by default...

woohoo! got it working fine, thank you so so so much guys! thing is i'm only using a temporary 56k connection, I've ordered a 512k connection broadband package from AOL themselves, and I was kinda getting worried about the quality I'd get with that if this is how it is with the normal 56k.. lol, ahh.. thanks once again Wink
