I think this could probally be answered better in the PSP forum since it will be an import issue. I'll move it over there to see if those guys know..

Found this on another PSP forum:
http://www.dumlao.cc/ikonboard/cgi-bin/ikonboard.cgi?;act=ST;f=2;t=251
It explains how to rename the files using DOS (although I believe it could be done in Windows too). I'm not sure if it works with PS7 and PS CS files though.

I've not tried it with CS files, but older PS brush files can be used in PSP7 by renaming the extension. Some brushes are even cross compadible.

Do you happen to know which brushes compatible and how to find out?

Not offhand, it's been a while, most sites wil tell you if the brushes are or not though, thats how I knew they were.

Why not simply download a PS brush from one of the free download sites out on the WWW and then rename it with the .PspBrush or PspScript extention??

Right click on the brush and from the menu choose "rename" and then hit your arrow keys FIRST to keep from loosing the brush name, then using the backspace key remove the PS file extention up to the dot and the type in PspBrush .

Click anywhere one the desktop to keep the changes, then it will be a matter of browsing to:
C:\Program Files\Jasc Software Inc\Paint Shop Pro 8\Brushes and dropping it in there.

Restart or start PSP and the brush should be in there and if it's not then it's not compatible. Simple as that! Smile

PS: I noticed in the Brush folder that there were some with the PspBrush extention and some with the PspScript extention. So if it's a complicated brush then you might try either of those and as I've stated if it's compatible then it's compatible, if it's not, well then it's not!! Grin

There are two small problems with this process:

1. Previous versions from PSP (7-) have more difficulty on using brushes for PS 7+ meaning...

2. That you might end up with useless downloads and renaming, which don't necessarily have to be a problem unless you are really *really* into brushes. It is just too much time wasted with something that might not work. Frustrating in fact.

So even though the process seems quite simple, it might not be the best. But thanks for the input anyway Smile
