I am thinking about building my own server farm
Anyone have a pretty accurate idea on how much a server farm would cost? I'm thinking about only 5-7 servers. Oh ya, and how much energy does it use? Where should I start off? What are the pros and cons of this? Thanks.

Well, youll need the following:
900+ Pentium Proc(Dont go Celeron or AMD, as both dont perform well if you leave them on 24/7)
512+ RAM(256 DDR will work too)
Preferably SCSI drives. Hunt around the net, iv seen 10 gigs for 60-80 bucks.
Compatiable MOBO (duh)
T-1, or OC3 lines.
Apache, or Suse linux, or Unix.

Balster,
The best way to do this is probably purchase a cabinet from a data center or a half cabinet and then you can fill it with whatever you want. They provide the storage space and dedicated line for you. All you have to do is fill it with your servers and set those up. Good luck.::angry::
