my first ever site layout attempt

so uh ..yeah i never did this before and all...so you guys prolly wont like it...but some pointers can always help...it's only just in jpg format...havent got the time to make it into a real webpage since it's FAR from finished and i need to finish my php system first

Nice job for your first layout. I would recommend that to make everything not so spaced out you need to use a dark background color. (black maybe) and if you want make the steel little less shinny in places.

It looks good so far but it looks like something is missing in the upper left corner. Also in the top banner where it says XI-WEB there is too much white there (I forgot the name of it but that makes it look like glass). It almost blocks you from seeing the word. And on the shapes and menus you should try making them all smaller because thats what is taking up so much space. Keep at it though dont stop keep evolvoing and transforming it.
