Apple G5 What do you think

When i pass my grade this year, My mom promised me an Apple G5, i have heard so much good things about it and wonderd if it was worth it or if i should select another pc. It's very expensive though. Stuff I need to do: Design, Maya, photoshop etc, run numerous apps at the same time + play games

Since you aren't paying for it, then sure its fine. But if you get a choice I would suggest anything but....

I have lots of probs with it, but the main one being a case that large, yet only room for 1 CD drive.....what the hell is that about?

And I've heard some major horror stories about apple tech support.
