Just so everybody who turns their pc's into a webserver. www.no-ip.com will turn http://yourip in a subdomain and if you have a dynamic ip they have a tool that you can download that will monitor your ip and tell their servers to update the forwarding address when your ip changes. Great services especially considering its all free.

i still don't get it, what am i doing wrong ?
I changed my router's setting page to port 800 so port 80 will be free for my server.
but now when i enter http://myiphere it just don't find anything ...
maybe i need to check some checkbox or change some "off" to "on" in order for my server to go public ?
If not, maybe the problem is about me using a firewall, but i removed the firewall so i don't see a problem there ...
blah

ok so i installed the apache and php4 in a folder named servers(yeah i did change and make sure that all the file paths in the configuration file was set to servers/whatever) right followed this and up until this line Start > Program Files > Apache HTTP Server > Control Apache Server > Restart... i don't have the control apache server menu, so when i close apache while it's running, when i go back to open it, it doesn't want to open i get an error message saying
Syntax error on line 312 of server/apache1/apache/conf/httpd.conf
Invalid command 'Directory', perhaps mis-spelt or defined by a module no included in the server configuration
what caused that and what can I do to fix it

Some people aren't getting the Start Menu thingy for Restarting the server (not sure why.. some do and some dont, I did) so heres how to make a restart shortcut (you can also start it with restart)
Target
C:\Server\Apache1\Apache\Apache.exe -w -n "Apache" -k restart
Start in
C:\Server\Apache1\Apache\
Run
Normal Window
Comment
Restart the Apache HTTP Server
